How do I find what DNS server is authoritative for a domain?

In Linux the nslookup utility allows you to find out using the following

nslookup
set querytype=soa
jgriffiths.org

A better way to list all servers is :

 

dig +short SOA jgriffiths.org
ns1.croc.arvixe.com. servers.arvixe.com. 2011062000 86400 7200 3600000 86400
